Xueshan or Syue-shan (Mt. Snow or Snow Mountain) is situated in side Taiwan's Shei-Pa National Park. The Park borders Taichung, Miaoli, Hsinchu and Yilan Counties, and covers an area of 76850 hectares inside the Xueshan Shanmai (Snow Mountain Mountain Range) in north central Taiwan. The Park boost 51 peaks over 3000 meters high including 2 of East Asia's highest peaks; the famous Xueshan Main Peak 3886m (summit) and its counterpart Beilingjiao 3880m. Shei-Pa National Park derives its name from Xueshan and Dabajianshan (Mt Dabajian). The Park has a wide range of fauna and flora which includes many rare and endemic species. Its interior is mostly wild and undeveloped. The Park (like most National Parks) was established for the protection, study and maintenance of its magnificent wilderness including all fauna and flora within the Park. About the Black Forest: From the moment you enter this forest, the atmosphere changes to a world which some times feels like those movies depicting medieval times where witches and wolves once roamed! There are large mammals living throughout this region; the Formosan Black bear frequents the forest, and midway along the forest trail, you will arrive at a spot where a bear had left a lot of deep claw marks while climbing a large tree ...

Snow is a rare and special event for taiwanese. Being from Canada, I actually dont give a damn and find it amusing the reaction to snow.
ABOUT: This video takes you from Wuling National Recreational Area in Taiwan's Shei-Pa National Park, up to Mt. Snow's Chika and 369 Lodges. This section of Trail which starts high above the Wuling Valley and runs for more than five kilometers up to 369 Mountain lodge, is by far, more difficult than the trail leading from 369 Lodge up to the Summit. The best time to traverse this trail is during Spring when Miaoli ( Named after Miaoli County ) Rododendron are in full bloom. About Chika lodge: Chika is situated about 2km up hill from the Main entrance. It is the biggest of the two lodges. It stands at the base of the Kupo ( Cry Slope ) It is surrounded by cool forest but lacks the views of 369 Lodge which is unpleasently hot at times. Nevertheless, Chika has good rest-rooms and good drinking water. About Kupo - Cry Slope: This Slope is between Chika lodge and the East Peak. It's named so because by the time some hikers reach it, they feel like crying because it is very steep. It is the most difficult piece of trail on this route but not as bad as the name suggest. About 369 lodge: It has the best views of all the lodges. No Sunsets but excellent ( at times ) sunrises over Nanhu Mountain and northeast Taiwan; also starlit night sky. The lodge is perched on a steep Alpine slope - altitude 3100 meters so be prepared for cold nights even in Summer. More Info: Xueshan or Syue-shan (Mt. 2008年2月，小檣與阿華去了一趟大雪紛飛的南湖，但裝備不夠不敢冒險過五岩峰，所以去北山晃晃...中途在審馬陣遇到陽聖呢！
"背上是沈重的背包、腳踩的溼滑的雪地，終於在大雪山黑森木區標高3360公尺處，找到一潭未結冰深水，這就是大甲溪水源頭，供應數百萬大台中地區居民。 看到這張照片，清水在地的居民好感動。 河川蘊育了生命，還有文化。從上游到出海口，全長124.1公里的大甲溪，從高山到海平面，是台灣12條河流中落差最大的河川，清水的牛罵頭文化、大甲的五十三庄故事，一張張日治時期的老照片，訴說依賴這條河流，代代相傳的聚落文化。 歷時一年半，製作經費超過百萬元，動用13位工作人員，從最北的淡水河到最南的高屏溪，最東邊的秀姑巒溪與蘭陽溪，過程中工作人員甚至還受傷送醫。 這是台灣頭一次有團隊，透過影像完整記錄12條主要河流的水文與人文，也見證台灣河川的美麗與哀愁。"
這是我的同學artist去爬奇萊山之後，回來將它照的照片剪輯製成的影片，看完了真的很感動，年輕的時候真的要做一些會讓自己永難忘懷的事...

小籃：桃山，武陵四秀之二。高3325m，峰頂景色壯闊，是台灣北段山脈視野最佳的山頭。從這裡可以眺望中央山脈最北端的北一段，北二段甚至北三段。還可以瞭望雪山山脈整條聖稜線。從一開始最北邊的山頭，（北岳）南湖大山3742m，往南中央尖山3705m（東峰西峰），甘薯峰，無名山，鬼門關山，死亡稜線，羊頭山，閂山，畢祿山，奇萊北峰，奇萊主峰，雪山主峰3886m，雪山北峰，雪山圈谷，穆特勒布山，品田山，池有山，巴渺拉雲山，小壩尖山，大壩尖山3300m（天空堡壘），東壩尖山。往下可以瞭望武陵農場北端與七家灣溪，台灣鳟（櫻花鉤吻鮭）保育區。
